Table of Content [Hide]

Driven by global energy transition and the “Dual Carbon” goal, traditional lead‑acid batteries are gradually being replaced by new‑generation lithium batteries due to shortcomings such as short lifespan, heavy pollution and low energy density. Among these, the Lead‑to‑Li conversion solution has become the mainstream choice in industrial power and energy storage for its high compatibility and cost‑effectiveness. With 24 years of expertise in the battery industry, BPI has developed full‑scenario Lead‑to‑Li solutions, providing a reliable upgrade path for forklifts, golf carts, cleaning vehicles and other equipment.

Product Classification and Core Architecture of Lead‑to‑Li Solutions

BPI’s Lead‑to‑Li product line is classified by voltage into three mainstream series: 12.8V, 25.6V and 51.2V, covering applications from small devices to large industrial machinery. All products use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells and adopt standardized series‑parallel design to achieve seamless replacement of traditional lead‑acid batteries, eliminating major circuit modifications and greatly lowering the upgrade threshold.

    12.8V Series (4S Configuration)

As an entry‑level power solution, it uses 4 series‑connected LiFePO4 cells, with capacity ranging from 6Ah to 200Ah and energy from 76.8Wh to 2560Wh.
    • Small‑capacity models (6Ah, 10Ah, 18Ah): mainly 4S1P/4S2P/4S3P, for low‑power scenarios.

    • Large‑capacity models (50Ah, 100Ah, 200Ah): 4S1P structure, balancing energy density and stability, widely used in outdoor lighting, security monitoring, toy cars and more.

Charging current: 1.2A–50A; max discharge current: up to 100A, meeting diverse power demands.

    25.6V Series (8S Configuration)

    Targeting medium‑power industrial scenarios, it uses 8 series‑connected LiFePO4 cells, capacity 6Ah–200Ah, energy 153.6Wh–5120Wh.

With 8S1P/8S2P/8S3P configurations, it is suitable for communication base stations, solar energy storage systems, telecom micro‑workstations. The 100Ah and 200Ah models deliver stable continuous discharge for long‑runtime outdoor energy storage equipment.

    51.2V Series (16S Configuration)

Designed for high‑power industrial equipment, it uses 16 series‑connected LiFePO4 cells, available in 50Ah and 100Ah, with energy of 2560Wh and 5120Wh respectively.

Continuous discharge: 25A–50A; max discharge current: up to 100A. Ideal for heavy‑duty applications such as forklifts, golf carts and cleaning vehicles.

LiFePO4 Cells: The “Heart” of Lead‑to‑Li Solutions

    Core advantages of LiFePO4 cells:
    • High Safety: Stable crystal structure with thermal runaway temperature above 700℃. Resistant to explosion under short circuit, overcharge or crush. Paired with BPI’s patented explosion‑proof system, it ensures zero explosion incidents.

    • Ultra‑Long Cycle Life: ≥2000 cycles, over 4 times that of lead‑acid (≈500 cycles). With BMS optimization, service life exceeds 10 years, far beyond the 3‑year lifespan of lead‑acid.

    • High Energy Density & Lightweight: About 3 times the energy density of lead‑acid; at the same capacity, only 1/3 the weight. For example, BPI 12.8V 100Ah battery weighs only 10kg, vs. ≈30kg for lead‑acid, reducing load and extending range.

    • Wide Temperature Adaptability: Charging at 0–45℃, discharging at ‑20–60℃, adaptable to outdoors, cold stores and high‑temperature workshops. Lead‑acid batteries suffer severe capacity loss at low temperatures and water loss at high temperatures.

    • Eco‑Friendly: Free of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, recyclable. Complies with EU RoHS, REACH and other environmental standards, eliminating heavy metal pollution.

Application Markets of Lead‑to‑Li Solutions: Full Coverage from Civil to Heavy Industrial

With rich voltage and capacity options, BPI Lead‑to‑Li batteries adapt to low‑power civil equipment to high‑power industrial machinery, with outstanding advantages in industrial power.

    Civil & Low‑Power Scenarios

The 12.8V series, featuring compact size, light weight and high safety, is widely used in outdoor lighting, security monitoring, toy cars and high‑intensity discharge lamps.

Outdoor LED streetlights using 12.8V 50Ah batteries achieve all‑night illumination without frequent replacement. Security systems with 12.8V 18Ah batteries provide long backup power during outages to ensure uninterrupted monitoring.

Medium‑Power Energy Storage & Communication Scenarios

The 25.6V series, with stable discharge and wide temperature tolerance, is ideal for communication base stations, solar storage systems, telecom micro‑workstations and home energy storage.

In remote base stations, 25.6V 100Ah batteries serve as backup power for grid failures. Home solar systems paired with 25.6V 200Ah batteries store PV energy for nighttime use, lowering electricity costs.

    High‑Power Industrial Power Scenarios

The 51.2V series is engineered for heavy industrial equipment, mainly for forklifts, golf carts and cleaning vehicles – where discharge performance, cycle life and safety are critical.
    • Electric Forklifts: Require frequent startup and high‑current discharge. BPI 51.2V 100Ah batteries provide stable long‑range output and support fast charging, boosting efficiency. Maintenance‑free design reduces downtime.

    • Golf Carts: Demand quiet, lightweight, long‑life power. BPI 51.2V 50Ah batteries reduce energy consumption, support year‑round heavy use, and eliminate acid leakage that damages lawns.

    • Electric Cleaning Vehicles: Need long‑hour operation in bumpy, humid environments. BPI Lead‑to‑Li batteries are waterproof, shockproof and wide‑temperature compatible, supporting high‑load components like brush decks and vacuums.

BPI Lead‑to‑Li batteries have obtained multiple international authoritative certifications. The company is certified to ISO9001 (quality management) and ISO14001 (environmental management), enabling smooth global exports and compliance with regional regulations.

Going forward, BPI will continue to deepen the Lead‑to‑Li sector, driven by technological innovation and customer needs. We will keep optimizing performance, expanding scenarios and delivering premium power and energy storage solutions worldwide, aiming to become a leader in Lead‑to‑Li and help more enterprises achieve green upgrades from lead to lithium.
